The project will deliver a state-of-the-art facility showcasing the latest technologies in cement production with 1.5 million tonne capacity. The key objective of the upgrade will be the ability to receive and store bulk raw materials via the Kwinana Bulk Terminal (KBT) directly to site through a conveyor system and a fully enclosed 110,000 tonne storage shed. The facility will incorporate 2 new 100 tonne per hour (tph) ball mill grinding circuits feeding into 6 new 3,200 tonne finished product silos with truck out loading. Our works include the supply structural, mechanical and piping support services for the development of the new expansion of the existing Kwinana Cockburn Cement plant.

Client Overview

Cockburn Cement Ltd (CCL) is part of the Adbri Group of companies, A leading supplier of cement, lime, concrete, aggregates, concrete products, and industrial minerals to the construction sector. Cockburn Cement Ltd., operating for more than 60 years, has become one of the major producers of cements and is the only lime producer in Western Australia. CCL supply the mining, agriculture, and construction industries. The expansion of CCL’s cement operations in Kwinana, WA will include new grinding circuits and a raw material storage and reclamation system, designed to produce several different cement products for the local market.

Scope of Work

Structural, Mechanical and Piping works:

·       Assembly, erection and construction of clinker storage shed

·       New grinding circuit building structure and mill grinding circuit

·       6 new silos, truck loading system, blending and pneumatic transport system

·       Mill feed building including bins

·       Material handling systems (conveyors), towers and associated works

·       Utilities: compressed air, water services and piping

·       Sampling system

·       Brownfield tie-ins.
