Project Overview

date completed
December 2021

The Waste-to-Energy project is located in Kwinana, Western Australia. Waste to Energy is an alternative, renewable energy which will deliver an enhanced and sustainable quality of life for all. By integrating the disposal of waste with the generation of energy, waste to energy plants provide an integrated solution to two of societies greatest challenges: waste disposal and energy supply, with a net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions relative to current landfill practices and fossil fuel energy generation. The plant will be able to process 400,000t of waste per year and produce approximately 36MW of baseload power for export to the grid. The plant consists of two gas fired incinerator lines which are designed, fabricated, and supplied by Keppel Seghers.

The bottom ashes are being separated in the ash handling area which includes multiple chutes, conveyors, and other components.
