We are pleased to announce SIMPEC has been awarded a contract with ACCIONA to supply and install the mechanical packages for two ventilation systems for the NSW Government’s Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) project. By creating a western bypass of the Sydney CBD, WHT will relieve pressure on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Anzac Bridge and Western Distributor corridors to improve transport capacity in and around central Sydney and Sydney Harbour. WHT is an important part of creating an integrated road and public transport network. As part of the WHT ventilation system work package, SIMPEC is responsible for the partial supply and installation of two tunnel ventilation systems to manage air flow through the tunnel after it opens to traffic. This contract award marks an important milestone in our strategic approach as we continue to expand our presence on the East Coast and strengthen our position within Australia’s Infrastructure Sector.
