The CGP2 Project involves construction of a new standalone Lithium Chemical Grade Plant, including a crushing facility at Talison Lithium Australia’s (Talison) operations at Greenbushes in Western Australia. The CGP2 project will significantly expand production of lithium oxide concentrates from Greenbushes, and is in response to the growing demand for them as a key feedstock for the manufacture of lithium ion batteries used for electric vehicles, battery storage and consumer electronics.
The project was completed in the second quarter of 2019. This project is now the most technically advanced Lithium Oxide facility in Western Australia.
Talison has appointed MSP Engineering Pt Ltd (MSP) as Head Contractor to design and construct the CGP2 Project. MSP is a leading engineering and project delivery company, which specialises in the development of mineral processing facilities and associated infrastructure around the world.
Over the last decade, MSP has successfully delivered over $500 million of resource development projects.
The Tanks Package is a Design and Construct (D&C) scope of work whereby SIMPEC will design, construct, supply and install four process water tanks for the CGP2 Project.
The scope includes:
The tanks will form part of a complex, state-of-the-art mineral and chemical processing facility.
