SIMPEC hosted an RUOK Day BBQ with our team at our Tianqi Operations. This was to highlight and encourage our team to have those tough conversations. If we take the time to look out for the warning signs and ask if they’re okay, that builds trust. They might not open up the first time, but it's important to check back in. Showing that genuine care encourages people who are not doing okay to open up and say ‘hey, I’m not okay.'
Asking isn’t always easy, but it could change a life.
R U OK? inspires and empowers everyone to meaningfully connect with those around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling. You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Start a conversation with these four steps: 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen 3. Encourage action 4. Check in
You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener.
Learn what might be going on in someone's life and what they might do or say when they're struggling. Just check in and ask, "Are you OK?"
Conversations need to happen every day. Encourage more people to ask R U OK? in your workplace and community.
